The show must go on!

Furnace Fest is a prominent underground music festival based in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the last five years, I've had the privilege of working closely with them as a client.

This festival showcases some of the most intense hardcore and metal bands.

At times, the shows can get a little ... chaotic.

A few years ago, during a performance by the band Knocked Loose, a mishap between the vocalist and a security guard almost escalated into a riot... which could have severely damaged the festival's reputation.

Thankfully, one of the festival's promoters, Johnny, quickly took control of the situation.

He quickly dismissed the security team and assumed the role of "security" himself, thereby defusing a potentially disastrous situation.

The vocalist of Knocked Loose describes the events in the following video.

(Please note, the clip contains strong language, so it may not be suitable around children)

The story begins at approximately 1:11:43.

Listening to this account brought a huge smile to my face.

It reminded me how committed the founders of Furnace Fest are to serving their audience and fulfilling on their promise of a fun and safe experience for all attendees.

Johnny could have just backed away, let the security guards handle it, and watched the chaos ensue.

Instead, Johnny resolved the crisis by taking ownership, which let the show go on, and undoubtedly made the Furnace Fest brand even stronger than it already was.

Words and visuals can say a lot ...

But actions speak so much louder.

The show must go on!
