my #1 pet peeve in design

No big strategic insights today—just a small but important pet peeve I wanted to talk about.

I’m helping a client prep some print files for a project.

The digital version has a slight texture overlay to mimic the look of imperfect printing. On a screen, this texture adds some depth and makes it feel more tangible.

But there’s a printed version of this design too. DO NOT print a texture.

I should not that I think you can sometimes get away with it on fabric if it's applied tastefully (shout out to Brian Morgante)

... but on paper? Please, nooooooo.

It’s like buying a pre-frayed hat 🙅‍♂️👎
