in the trees
This is the third day in a row I’ve sent out an email related to skiing — and, yes, I’m fully embracing the theme.
I decided to stop in Colorado on my way back from California for a few days on the slopes. Today, I explored a few areas I hadn’t skied before.

I’ve been skiing for almost 27 years now, but when I’m in unfamiliar territory, I take my time. I go slow because there’s risk in the unknown — I could hit a tree, fall into a creek, or get stuck in a low spot.
But when I’m following someone who’s done the same run a hundred times? That’s when I can move quicker, and with confidence. They’ve been there before; they know the right routes to take to get the most out of our time on the mountain.
Here's the thing...
If you’re facing a serious challenge, having someone who’s been through it many times before can save you time, stress, and unnecessary mistakes. A guide can help you move quickly while avoiding the hazardous trees. It might even be fun.
And the best part? Once you’ve made it through with their help, you’ll have the confidence to tackle it on your own next time — and maybe even show someone else the ropes.
