Founder comes first?

A few days ago I sent an email about the audience coming last.

It sparked several conversations, which led me to a theory ...

What if by creating a business that serves ourselves, we really are doing the best thing we can for the audience?

And a “strong brand” just occurs naturally, without effort.

As I think through people I know who’ve found immense success and fulfillment in their businesses, pretty much all of them have created products that actually serve themselves, or a previous version of themselves.

Most of them don’t actually care about or use any of the typical stuff:

Brand archetypes, market research, target personas, blah blah blah

They just made something that they “liked”.

And if they are their own target customer, perhaps their “subjective” opinions actually become “objective” for the business.

What do you think?
