Agency or freelancer?
A client of mine is in the final week of our brand roadmap workshop and asked if he should hire a freelancer or an agency to handle implementation.
The short answer is … it doesn’t matter.
Now for the long answer:
A common assumption is that a freelancer is going to be cheaper, while an agency is going to be more expensive. But here in 2024, I've found that this assumption doesn't hold true like it used to.
Regardless of what a vendor calls themselves, your money will be best spent with those who have previously and consistently provided the exact outcome you desire.
Creative people are notorious for saying yes to anything and everything, yet the ones who consistently achieve successful outcomes tend to apply a specialized, repeatable approach.
It might be their style, the tools they use, or perhaps the industry they serve. Ideally, the work they have in their portfolio closely reflects what you want to achieve for yourself.
The challenging part, though, and where I help, is knowing what to ask of them.
